What the 2014 Mystery Guest said...
The recent Quality in Tourism Assessor maintained Boningale Manor at the 4-star rating we've held since opening; we opened our doors in 2003. Four of the five categories assessed (Cleanliness, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Hospitality) were graded 4 Star (very good). The fifth category, Breakfast, was graded as 5 Star! Not just making it over the 85% required for 5-star, but marked at 93%. The anonymous assessor, who completed an overnight stay before revealing her identity, ended her report as follows:-
“The property is set back from the main road and the gardens and the grounds are extensive. Changes to the entrance hall have recently been completed with new limestone flooring in place. The stairs and landing areas have also been re-carpeted and a very good standard of presentation has been achieved. The bedrooms are well proportioned and very good quality beds and mattresses are in place. The furniture in room 1 presented particularly well (as was mentioned). Bathroom fittings and floorings are in a very good order and high levels of cleanliness are consistent throughout the accommodation. It was appreciated that the owner was interactive and efficient service procedures are in place. The quality of the breakfast continues to be a key strength and a Breakfast Award is deserved.”
All of our rooms are centrally heated and equipped with digital TV, radio alarm, kettle and hair-dryer. A courtesy tray of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and filtered water is provided. Ironing, fridge and freezer facilities are freely available on request, and Wi-Fi is readily picked up, at no charge.
All of the B&B rooms look out over our fields and gardens. Enjoy watching the squirrels collecting nuts, the horses grazing in the paddock and (in addition to our hens and ducks) spot a wide variety of birds (wrens, various tits and sparrows, robins, nut hatches, our resident population of house martins, starlings, blackbirds, pigeons, spotted & green woodpeckers, patridges, pheasants, crows, hawks and buzzards).
We are proud of our breakfasts - and their excellence has been rewarded with VisitBritain's Good Breakfast Award. We won't be losing it! Please download our breakfast menu below for full details!
Guests at Boningale Manor are spoiled for choice concerning evening meals! From the bottom of our drive, the popular 'Summerhouse' pub offers a welcome and good value meals just a quarter of a mile walk away up the hill. Just half-a-mile down the hill, the award-winning 'Horns of Boningale' offers food that can only be described as truly excellent (and, like us, without being pricy). Albrighton, Shifnal and the surrounding areas offer many other choices. There are high-end restaurants, great food pubs and cafes. You can choose from really good Italian, Chinese & Indian restaurants - or stay British and visit the Albrighton Fryer (who batter the best cod for many miles around!).
A three night stay at Boningale Manor typically works out at around £30 per person per night for 4* Bedrooms and even-better breakfasts.
Weekend guests pay £75 for their 1st night (covering linen charges), £60 for the 2nd, thence £50 per night until the 7th. Midweek guests are asked for £70, £55, then thence £50 up to 7th night. November to February guests benefit from our Winter Rate of £65, thence £50 (except Christmas and New Year). For single occupancy, we deduct £10. Room 4 can offer a foldaway bed for a 3rd person @£30 for 1st night, £20 thereafter.
